Assisted Stretching
Movement & Performance
Assisted stretching uses guided, therapist-supported movement to help improve flexibility, reduce muscle tightness, and increase overall mobility.
Unlike stretching on your own, assisted stretching allows muscles to relax more fully while being moved through a controlled range of motion. This can help improve how your body moves, reduce restriction, and support both recovery and performance.
At Take Ten Massage, assisted stretching is integrated into your session when it supports your mobility and movement goals.

How It Works
During assisted stretching, your body is moved into specific positions while muscles are gently lengthened under control. Because the work is guided, you’re able to relax while the stretch is applied, allowing for a deeper and more effective release than typical self-stretching. This technique is often combined with massage work to improve both tissue quality and range of motion.
Who It’s For
Assisted stretching may benefit people who:
• Feel tight or restricted in movement
• Sit for long periods or have postural stiffness
• Want to improve flexibility and mobility
• Are physically active or train regularly
• Experience muscle tightness that limits performance
What to Expect
Movements are slow, controlled, and always adjusted to your comfort level. You may feel a deeper stretch than you would on your own, but the goal is never to force range—only to improve it safely over time. Sessions often leave you feeling more open, mobile, and balanced.
