Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions—what to expect, how to prepare, and how to choose the right session.

Appointments & Scheduling

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice result in forfeiture of 50% of the service price (deposit). This applies regardless of reason, as the reserved time cannot be rebooked on short notice.

Yes. A deposit may be required to reserve your appointment, especially for longer sessions or new clients. Deposits help ensure scheduled time is respected and are applied toward your session when you arrive.

Appointments begin and end at the scheduled time and cannot be extended to accommodate late arrivals. Your session may be shortened to stay on schedule. A deposit is required to secure appointments and may be required again after a late cancellation or no-show.

Session frequency depends on your goals. Some clients come in monthly for maintenance, while others benefit from more frequent sessions during periods of high stress, recovery, or training. I’m happy to help you decide what makes sense for you.

Your Session Experience

Before each session, we’ll take a few minutes to review your goals, preferences, and any relevant health information so your massage is both safe and effective. If it’s your first visit – or if it’s been a year or more since your last session – updated intake information and renewed consent may be required.
During your massage, you’re encouraged to communicate openly. You can request adjustments to pressure, positioning, temperature, music, or focus areas at any time. The session is collaborative, and your comfort always comes first.
You’re always welcome to speak up during your session – whether you want more or less pressure, a change in technique, or to move on from a particular area. You’re also welcome to enjoy quiet relaxation if that’s what you prefer.
Massage can occasionally bring up emotional responses; if that happens, you’re free to express what you’re feeling, request privacy, or end the session early. You remain in control of your experience at all times.
All services provided are strictly professional and non-sexual in nature. Requests for sexual activity, behavior, or conversation are not tolerated. Breast and genital areas are never massaged.
Proper draping is maintained at all times to protect your privacy and comfort. Only the area being actively worked on will be uncovered, and I’ll always communicate before moving to a new area. Work near sensitive areas such as the hips or low back is performed only with consent and can be done through draping if preferred.
Any violation of professional boundaries will result in the immediate termination of the session, and the full session fee will still apply.
Yes. All client information – including intake forms and anything discussed during your session – is kept confidential and handled with care. Information is not shared with third parties unless required by law or with your written consent.

Health & Wellness Considerations

Possibly. You’re responsible for informing me of any medical conditions, injuries, or medications before your session. In some cases, written clearance from a healthcare provider may be required.
Mild soreness can occur, especially after deeper or focused work, and typically resolves within a day or two. Staying hydrated and gentle movement often help support recovery.
Yes. Many clients find massage therapy helpful for managing stress, improving relaxation, and supporting overall nervous system regulation. Sessions can be adjusted to emphasize calming or restorative work when needed.

Results & Aftercare

Results vary from person to person and session to session. Many clients notice reduced tension, improved mobility, and a greater sense of relaxation after their appointment. Ongoing or focused concerns often benefit most from consistent care over time rather than a single session.
After your session, it’s helpful to drink water, move gently, and give your body time to integrate the work. Light activity, stretching, or rest can support recovery depending on how your body feels.
Mild soreness can occur, especially after deeper or more focused work, and typically resolves within 24 48 hours. If soreness feels excessive or unfamiliar, feel free to reach out with questions.
Consistency matters. Regular sessions, mindful movement, hydration, and listening to your body all help maintain the benefits of massage therapy. I’m happy to offer guidance on session frequency based on your goals.
